The San Francisco
Urban Iditarod runs a dog-cart race through the city once
a year as a salute to the Alaskan
Iditarod dog sled race from Anchorage to Nome. Here in
SF, "dogs" pull "sleds" from one "watering
hole" to the next for a total of three miles. Now, substitute
person for dog, shopping cart for sled, and local bar for
watering hole. In 1999, the Big Woofie supported the Tiki
Dogs team. In 2000, the Big Woofie ran with the Los Dingos.
